Bon Secours Health System Wins 2013 Gallup Great Workplace Award
I am delighted to announce that Bon Secours Health System is one of the recipients of the 2013 Gallup Great Workplace Award. The award honors organizations whose employee engagement results demonstrate they have the most productive and engaged workforces in the world.
At a time when health care providers are deep into the challenges of preparing for national health care reform, Bon Secours Health System maintains its focus on ensuring that employees are engaged in their work. It has not always been so. In 2005, employee engagement was at the 7th percentile and nursing engagement was at the 54th percentile. In 2012, just six years later, after an all-out effort to change the culture of engagement at Bon Secours, employee engagement has reached the 96th percentile and nursing engagement is at 81st percentile.
These notable scores would mean little if they were not associated with consistent improvements in the organization’s physician and patient engagement and clinical and financial indicators. Physician engagement has made incremental gains for the third straight year, and patient engagement has also reached high levels for the three years since 2010. Employee turnover has dropped from 21.0% to 13.2%. And, clinical indicators have shown a dramatic improvement in quality.
I want to thank each of you for your unwavering leadership and commitment of resources and support in nurturing and strengthening employee engagement throughout the system. As the leader of Bon Secours Health System, I see the tangible differences our engaged employees make every day. Winning the Gallup Great Workplace Award is just further proof that Bon Secours Health System has truly become a great place to work!
Bon Secours Health System will receive the award at the 2013 Gallup Summit, which will take place May 7-9, 2013, in Omaha, Nebraska.
