The Cardiac Fitness Program is more than just exercise. It is a comprehensive approach to helping individuals with cardiovascular disease improve the quality of their lives through supervised exercise, lifestyle modification, support and encouragement.

program details

Cardiac Fitness classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and include medically-managed exercise programs and lifestyle counseling. Participants attend one-hour sessions three times a week for up to 36 sessions depending on individual progress and concerns.

our team

The Cardiac Fitness team consists of highly qualified health professionals, including registered nurses, exercise physiologists, certified diabetes educators, and a registered dietitian. The program is overseen by a physician Medical Director who monitors safety, prescribes appropriate exercise, and participates in lifestyle modification counseling.

how to participate

A physicians referral is required to take part in the Cardiac Fitness program, so ask your doctor for a referral to the program. Once we receive the referral, we will contact you to schedule a pre-program interview appointment.

This program is covered by most insurance companies including Medicare. Our staff is happy to verify insurance coverage and arrange for preauthorization of services, if necessary.

The Cardiac Fitness Program is located in the HealThy Self suite at the St. Francis Institute for Chronic Health in Greenville. Valet parking services are provided for your convenience. For more information or to arrange a tour of the facility, please call 864-400-3651.
