Open Arms Hospice

Our Hospice program provides the kind of care, support, and nurturing for patients and their families that helps ease the suffering of a life-limiting disease. We administer medicine and technology to make patients as physically comfortable as possible, and we also provide specially trained teams of professionals and volunteers who care for the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Hospice returns the natural process of dying to the home, amid familiar surroundings and the comforting presence of family, and focuses on caring for the whole person, restoring dignity to final days.

When a cure is no longer possible and the patient has decided to stop aggressive treatment, our hospice team (which includes nurses, home health aides, social workers, pharmacists, dietitians, volunteers and chaplains) steps in to provide for the needs of the patient and family. This includes medication for symptom control, skilled nursing care and dedicated volunteer care, as well as counseling and bereavement services for the family for up to 13 months after the patient's death.

Hospice never attempts to cure the terminal patient, nor do we ever provide false hope. Rather, we provide care beyond cure to ensure that life is full and worthwhile until the end.

Our services are available in Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, Pickens, and Laurens counties and are paid by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Patients will not be denied services based on their ability to pay.
