Dr. Anderson and the St. Francis Surgical Weight Loss team have given me my life back. After trying and failing on so many diets and my health starting to decline due to the my excess weight, I was feeling hopeless and desperate. I was on medicine for PCOS, pre-diabetes, and blood pressure, my cholesterol had recently gone well above 200, I had wicked acid reflux, and sleep apnea.
After doing research on the LAP-BAND process and procedure, I started out searching for a surgeon in our area. I found Dr. Anderson and was not disappointed! After completing the prerequisites, I had surgery on July 6, 2009. The recovery was not bad at all. I had a few days of feeling tender, then after a week of taking it easy I was back to most of my tasks. Since then I have lost nearly 50 lbs! And for someone only 5 feet tall that is a lot of weight!
I am off all meds now except my blood pressure meds (which have been cut in half). I am now able to exercise without pain, and I feel great! I can play in the floor with my daughter and GET UP now! I have tons of energy and emotionally I feel better than I have in years. I am more confident and I am overall more active in every way. All my blood work has come back in the normal ranges.
I would do this again in a heart beat and highly recommend that if you fall into a category of morbidly obese, don't give up, that there are solutions for you and you DON'T have to live your life overweight, unhealthy and miserable.
